ONLINE 5-week Short Course: Starting to Write

May 15 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

£75

with William Gallagher

Starting Friday 15 May 2020

5 session course, released weekly on a Friday for 5 weeks then available for 2 months after the last date

Join us in our virtual classroom for a five-week short course where you can choose how you follow and work.

Run by William Gallagher, who has led short courses for Writing West Midlands for many years, we’ll look at both the creative and the practical aspects of writing novels, short stories and scripts.

You’ll create characters, plan plots and think about dialogue as you write from scratch or develop work you’ve already begun.

At the same time you’ll learn about what publishers need and why – plus how to juggle your writing alongside all the other commitments in your life.

It’s about how to get started, how to keep going and then how to finish.

The course will be self-led, so you can go at your own pace. The online software is simple and easy to navigate, and you can pause and come back to it as often as you wish.

The teaching is a mix of video, written information and instructions, and writing challenges for you to complete.

This course is open to all abilities, particularly those new to writing, or new to writing prose and scripts.
