Birmingham Literature Festival

October 7, 2017 - October 15, 2017

Venues across Birmingham

This year, Birmingham Literature Festival turns 20.

From a tiny series of events back in 1998, the festival is now week-long book bonanza in October every year which takes over the city of Birmingham, which celebrates great writers, performers, thinkers and speakers.

This year, the festival runs 7-15 October 2017.

We’re delighted that Virgin Trains has joined us as headline sponsor this year, as they too are celebrating their 20th anniversary. We’re also very grateful to our other event sponsors.

Birmingham Literature Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with exciting authors, spellbinding storytellers, passionate poets and inspiring individuals. You’ll find writing workshops, book clubs and unmissable performances across the city.

You can also buy a Festival Pass for just £70 (worth £280) which entitles you to attend all the author events, over 30 in all*.

The festival is a project of Writing West Midlands.

*The Pass does not include any workshops or family events.

Sign up to our mailing list to receive updates, special offers, and backstage news from the festival team.

We’re also partnering with THSH on Sunday 15 October to host poet and performer Hollie McNish.
