Well Versed

Writing West Midlands was a regional partner in the Well Versed project. The overall purpose of this project was to improve the poetry ‘offer’ to children and young people by significantly improving the quality and quantity of poets and teachers supporting them. This was achieved in the West Midlands by working with 35 post-graduate trainee teachers from Newman University College Birmingham and a cohort of established and emerging poets.  

Creativity, Culture and Education was the national delivery partner for Well Versed and in worked in partnership with Writing West Midlands, New Writing North and Writers’ Centre Norwich. We are currently evaluation the project (which finished in October 2011) with a view to developing new initiaties to work with teachers.
