Publishing

The West Midlands is home to an increasing number of small and independent literary publishers, ranging from the fiction publishers Tindal Street Press (one of the UK’s most sucessful independent presses) to a number of small poetry presses. A number of these publishers meet through a regional network convened by Writing West Midlands. Dark Tales www.darktales.co.uk is a West Midlands based publisher of horror and speculative fiction, managed by Sean Jeffery.

Flarestack Poets www.flarestackpoets.co.uk are publishers of fine poetry and based in the West Midlands run by Jacqui Rowe and Meridith Andrea.

Five Seasons Press www.fiveseasonspress.com are publishers of poetry based in Hereford, run by publisher (and fine printer) Glenn Storhaug.

Littlejohn & Bray Publishing http://littlejohnandbray.yolasite.com/publications.php are a poetry press (as well as a design agency) based in Cheshire but with strong West Midlands links. The publisher is Amy Littlejohn.

Nine Arches Press www.ninearchespress.com are a relatively new publisher of poetry based in Rugby and jointly managed by Jane Commane and Matt Nunn. They also run various workshops.

Novel Presswww.novelpress.co.uk is a fiction publisher run by Christine Coleman and based in Birmingham.

Offa’s Press www.offaspress.co.uk another new publisher of poetry books, pamphlets and CDs, run by Simon Fletcher and colleagues.

Rubery Press www.ruberybookaward.com  is a fiction and non-fiction publisher based in Birmingham which also runs the Rubery Book Awards.

Tindal Street Press www.tindalstreet.co.uk are a Birmingham-based publisher of fiction with an international reputation, led by Publisher Alan Mahar.
